Another week, another update from Apple, this time it’s the iOS 7.0.4 update that is now available. The iOS 7.0.4 update seems to be a very minor one and we noticed no real changes at all, but it says a lot that since the launch of iOS7 a few months ago, this is the 4th version update to be launched, hopefully they get it right this time. As I told you earlier in the week, the iOS7.0.3 download to fix all of our bugs and issues is now available to all iPhone and iPad users. The iOS7.0.3 download also includes some new features along with the bug fixes that we are waiting for to solve issues such as iMessage failures.
The update includes new iCloud Keychain and Password Generator support. iCloud Keychain keeps track of all of your account names, passwords and also credit card numbers, these are then accessible across all of your devices and the info is encrypted so cannot be read by Apple. Password Generator allows the Safari browser to suggest hard-to-guess passwords for your online accounts to increase your security. It looks like Apples much anticipated iOS 7.0.3 update will be rolled out this week. Rumor has it that iOS 7.0.3 is currently being put through its final tests by employees and Apple partners before being released. Let all of us Apple users hope that this round of testing is far more thorough than the tests that iOS7, iOS 7.0.1 and iOS 7.0.2 were put through before being released riddled with bugs. Many users (including ourselves here at SMCP HQ) have reported serious issues with iMessage being broken in iOS7. I must say that I didn’t notice it when updating to iOS7 and iOS7.0.1 but the latest iOS7.0.2 update has been reporting serious iMessage issues that Apple have also confirmed. Apple state that it is only affecting a fraction of a percent of users but pretty much everyone I know has this issue so it seems to be far more widespread.
Apple state that a new iOS7.0.3 update will fix the issue but there is no news on when this will be rolled out, the rumors are that it is in final testing phase and will be available next week. Until then, you may notice that on the surface, your iMessage looks fine but messages are not sending or are getting stuck in your outbox and you are also not receiving iMessages. Continue reading
iOS7 is here, just about, as the Apple servers seemed to struggle with the record numbers of users trying to download the spanking new operating system. So…. What’s new in iOS7?
It may not be to everyone’s taste and iOS6 still looked pretty stylish but from our point of view here at SMCP headquarters, we like it. We gave Apple a few hours for their servers to settle down before we downloaded and it downloaded and installed pretty fast for us, certainly much faster than iOS6. Continue reading
