As I told you a few weeks ago here, the Samsung Galaxy S5 was unveiled at the Mobile World Congress event yesterday along with a whole host of other handsets and smart watches from some of the World’s leading manufacturers. The S5 was the standout turn though and it is easy to see why, the Samsung Galaxy S5 specs, although not ground breaking, are yet another step up. iPhone 6 – the rumor mill picks up speed
There’s no doubt that a new iPhone will be on its way this year and the iPhone 6 rumor mill is really starting to pick up speed with predictions of a May 2014 launch rather than the usual September release date. Motorola Moto X review – is it the Christmas 2013 winner?
There was a time many years ago when Motorola were the pioneers of the cellular phone. There was also a time not so many years ago when Motorola were the laughing stock of the industry with sub-standard handsets plagued with bugs and crashes as their rivals overtook then for quality and innovation. But, the Motorola Moto X is getting some rave reviews and might just be the handset to relaunch Motorola to the forefront. Can it be the big Christmas winner this year? It’s impressive, that’s the first thing I noticed when holding it to give it an extensive check over and review. It feels solid despite being plastic (much like the iPhone 5c) and is very responsive. Customization is a big feature of the Moto X, Motorola’s Moto Maker online tool allows you to customize the colors of the front, back and trim at point of purchase and they boast 252 different color combinations right down to the volume button and camera bezel colors. Personalised printing is also available. There is also a ‘wood effect’ finish available although I must say this isn’t my cup of tea. Continue reading

For many, it was a weekend of shopping madness, starting with Black Friday and culminating in Cyber Monday. If you managed to pick up a technological bargain then now is the time to recycle old gadgets and electronic devices that are out of date or you have replaced. Whether it is a new cell phone you got your hands on, a tablet, iPad or an iPod, if you recycle your old gadgets you could get hundreds of dollars back to spend over the festive holidays. Nokia World 2013 highlights
Nokia had their new product unveiling in Abu Dhabi today (22nd October). Below are some of the Nokia World 2013 highlights and takeaways.
As I predicted yesterday, one of the highlights was the unveiling of the Nokia Lumia 1520 phablet. I must say, the technical specs for this new light yet supersized handset are very impressive. Despite being slim (8.3mm) and light it sports a 6 inch 1080p HD display, 20 megapixel PureView camera with Carl Zeiss optics and quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. This makes it the first quad-core handset Nokia have ever produced. It also comes with an impressive 32GB of onboard memory which is also expandable. Continue reading
